Description

This tour takes you around the Pelješac peninsula, a worldwide-renowned area of red wine production and oyster farming, famous for the longest city walls in Europe and old salt works. We will travel along the coast to the town of Ston. After a short walking tour down the narrow streets of Ston, you will go down the road, through the vineyards to the village of Ponikve, where we will visit a local wine producer. After wine tasting and an introduction to wine production in this area, we will drive back to Mali Ston, a small settlement in the bay, where you will embark on a small boat and go for a short sailing tour of the bay. You will visit the oyster beds and taste the oysters, mussels and the local wine, grappa. After oyster-tasting, we will have lunch and you will get to enjoy a mussel-based traditional dish called “buzara” (mussels cooked with olive oil, garlic and white wine). The lunch will take approx. 1 hour and then we will take the shuttle back to Dubrovnik.
