Description

This tour starts on the Korcula island and ends in the beautiful Dubrovnik countryside area of Konavle. During 7 days you will explore the amazing islands, medieval towns, old villages and lovely bays. Croatia is country of 1000 islands, rich history, Mediterranean vegetation and mild climate, one of the best way to explore it is without any doubt on a bike.

The duration of the tour is 8 days (7 nights) and tour is 3 destination based: beginning on the island Korcula where you spend 2 days in circular ride, then you continue traveling down to Dubrovnik where you spend 2 days, after that you cruise to beautiful island Mljet, after 2 days exploring the Mljet you return to Dubrovnik or to Cavtat town where you spend your last day on a tour.


Itinerary

1st Day: Arrive in Dubrovnik, transfer to Korcula, Lumbarda


Arrival at Dubrovnik airport where you meet our representative/driver who do car shuttle along the coast and Peljesac peninsula to Orebic town where you take ferry to Korcula.

Upon arrival, if you have time you can do warm up ride about 20 km in the area of Lumbarda.


Night stop: Korcula, Lumbarda.

2nd Day: Korcula cycling

Route: From Lumbarda To Korcula town – from Korcula town to bay of Racisce. The total route duration is approximately 40 km, with possibility to upgrade it for another 25 km, maximum elevation 80 m, type of the ground: asphalt.

Second day on Korcula we suggest a circular ride from the village Lumbarda to Korcula town where in the old town you can visit Cathedral, house of Marco Polo,...after town sightseeing you bike along the coast to picturesque bay of Racisce, after eventually lunch there, you return same road to Lumbarda or you can prolong your ride to town Pupnat.

Night stop: Korcula, Lumbarda.

3rd Day: Travel to Dubrovnik, old town sightseeing walking tour

Today we depart Korcula taking a ferry and car to Dubrovnik (journey time approximately 2 hours). On our way back we stop in small town of Ston for refreshment and stretch our legs, old town Ston is famous by largest European city walls.

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik you will be taken to your B&B, afternoon is arranged sightseeing walking tour in the historical center with local guide.

Night stop: Dubrovnik.

4th Day: Island Sipan biking

Route: from port Sudjuradj Pakljena to Velji Vrh – port Luka and back to Sudjuradj. Total distance (with path to village Do) approx. 20 km, max. elevation 230 m (peak of Velji vrh), type of ground: paved, unpaved roads.

After the breakfast you leave a Dubrovnik for a day trip to Elafite island Sipan. From your Dubrovnik accommodation you will cycle to port Gruz where bikes are put on ferry for the crossing to island Sipan.

Island Sipan was the residential place of Dubrovnik's patricians but today is calm and well preserved typical Dalmatian island. Following the road from Sudjuradj past vineyards and olive groves to Luka, a small harbor on the west of the island. Here you will find many interesting sights to explore: including old churches, summer residential palaces, beautiful pine forests and hidden bays. On arrival in Luka enjoy lunch in one of excellent taverna. You will return to the port of Sudjuradj in the late afternoon and take the ferry back to Dubrovnik.

Night stop: Dubrovnik.

5th Day: Travel to island Mljet, Mljet biking

Mljet biking route 1. (Village Polace - Salt lakes - Vrataosolina - Polace). Total distance approx. 35 km, max. elevation 90 m, type of ground: asphalt, village roads, gravel (paved and unpaved roads), plus optional route of another 35 km

Today you visit delightful island of Mljet, famous by its natural protected area where are two salt lakes and many historical monuments that date from ancient times.

After breakfast head to port Gruz where you take ferry to Mljet, journey time about 2 hours. Your cycle ride starts in village Polace (famous by ruined Roman Palace) and your route will take you around the salt lakes, through villages, vineyards and pine forest.

Night stop: Mljet national park area

6th Day: Mljet, biking in national park and ferry back to Dubrovnik - Konavle

Mljet biking route 2. (Village Polace – port Sobra - Polace). Total distance approx. 50 km, max. elevation 250 m , type of ground: asphalt.

Second day on Mljet you will have chance to explore much more of this green island, if you look for longer distance then this east – west side island route will be excellent choice to explore other secret parts of this island. During a day you take ferry back to Dubrovnik and you continue your tour in picturesque countryside of Konavle

Night stop: Konavle, Gruda or Cavt town

7th Day: Biking in Konavle countryside

Route: Gruda - Zvekovica - Lovirno - Gruda; Toal distance 40 km, type of the ground: asphalt, tarmac roads.

Today you explore on your bike Konavle valley, aregion that spread between Dubrovnik and Montenegro. Bike route follows the river Ljuta and old watermills, valley and wine yards, old villages and picturesque towns.

Night stop: Konavle, Gruda or Cavtat

Meal plan: breakfast

Overnight: B&B




8th Day: Tour End

After the breakfast your cycling tour ends in Konavle countryside area or Cavtat, we take you back to Dubrovnik airport according to your flight times.

Bike

Cube and Trek hybrid and MTB bikes, or Cannondale (road bikes) come equipped with bag, lock, tire repair kit, pump, rack for the panniers. Helmet included, but we recommend that you bring your own helmet for safety and hygiene reasons.

  •     The tour starts and finishes in Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik has international airport with easy connections with other European cities and Croatian capital Zagreb.
  •     There is also option that tour start and finish in Split.
