Step back to history

1^st day – arrival, group accommodation in Cavtat or Konavle area (depends on the group size). Welcome dinner at one of the rural households with domestic food and drinks, the tour is presented in detail, with introduction to the area, local customs and history of Konavle valley.

2^nd day – hiking to Snježnica mountain, St. Elijah peak (1234m), story of Austro hungarian monarchy and their influence on this region, in terms of government, agriculture, construction, and education. Special emphasis on the road that leads us from the village of Kuna Konavoska to the mountain peak, built by Austro hungarian government in military purposes, to control the entire valley.

3^rd day – hiking the old railway track to the village of Brotnice in Konavle hills. Continuation of the Austro-Hungary monarchy story, but this time with emphasis on the railway, and the popular „Ćiro“ train which operated and connected the area of Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia (in the area where we are right now) and Montenegro. In the village of Brotnice we visit monumental medieval tombstones „Stećci“, and revive the memories of ancient history, the medieval period, and Bogumils (their cultural and religious influence on the area). We will walk/drive back through the panoramic roads to the field of Konavle and back to Cavtat.

4^th day – Dubrovačko Primorje (the area between Dubrovnik and Ston (Pelješac peninsula): the tale of ancient history: Illyrians and other former residents of this area of today's Croatia, especially the area of Dubrovačko Primorje, where we will visit their heritage in form of stone piles (form of a grave site) and hillforts (remains of walls that were protection of intruders and shelter from the war). Walking route leads us to the villages of Dubrovačko primorje where these impressive stone monuments are located, the majority of them on hill tops.

5^th day – Ston – the story of Napoleon's influence to this area, The French road. We visit the town of Ston and hike the old French way all the way to the interior of Pelješac peninsula, where the famous vineyards of this „Kingdom of wine“ are located. During the time of French occupation of what is today's southern Croatia (the time when the famous Dubrovnik Republic was abolished), the French built the entire net of roads in order to improve the commercial and military connections in the area of former Dubrovnik Republic, which were underdeveloped due to the fear of Dubrovnik government of foreign invasions from the interior area, what is today's Bosnia and Herzegovina – that was also the logic behind majority of communications and trade of Dubrovnik to be done through maritime merchants.

6^th day – Korčula, the island of Marco Polo – the story about the famous seaman and world traveller Marco Polo whose family origins come from the island of Korčula. The tour of the city and the walking tour to the small village of Pavja luka and back.

7^th day – Dubrovnik: the blue routes. The sea was the main route of Dubrovnik's wealth and fame – the Republic invested very few funds into building the roads, except for the Caravan's way to the Dubrovnik hinterland, the „blue path“ was the lifeline of the famous Dubrovnik Republic.
Today's walking path leads us partially via the Caravan way, which connected the City with nearby villages, such as Bosanka. From there we will continue to Srđ hill top where the Fort Imperial is located, built by the French – this location and the fort itself are important for Dubrovnik in relation to the recent history from the 1990s. We will descend from the hilltop on foot back to Dubrovnik, where the tour ends with a goodbye dinner.

8th day – farewell, departure from Dubrovnik
